What is hhc?

At Eisai, everything we do is dedicated to giving our first thought to patients through our human health care (hhc) philosophy.

Every decision we make, every idea we explore, every improvement we pioneer is aimed at helping to improve patients’ lives by putting hhc into practice. At Eisai, each of us is committed to keeping the best interests of patients and their families foremost in mind. hhc is a guiding principle for all of us.

Eisai’s commitment to innovative medicines and solutions in disease prevention, treatment and care for the health and wellbeing of patients is embodied in our hhc philosophy. To us, hhc means we regard patients and their families as the most important stakeholders in the delivery of healthcare and in what we do.

human health care steers the way in which we work at Eisai, in the research we carry, the medicines we develop and the treatment options we make available to patients. It is by focusing on the patients first that we will achieve our goals to research, develop and produce innovative medicines and solutions that will help satisfy unmet medical needs and contribute to the health and wellbeing of patients worldwide.

The hhc philosophy was brought into the company in the late 1980s. It has been core to Eisai’s direction and growth ever since.

hhc combines the inspiration from the life and dedication of Florence Nightingale (1820-1910), a British nurse who made enormous contributions to the development of the nursing profession and public health. The hhc logo is modelled on Florence Nightingale’s signature.
